About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how StudyPulse ("StudyPulse", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the StudyPulse website at https://eklavya.live and the StudyPulse Android app (together, the "Service"). StudyPulse is a free online learning platform for Maharashtra State Board students of Class 5 to 10. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: first and last name, email address, mobile number (optional), district, taluka, city and organization, and at first login your class (5th to 10th), gender, date of birth and address (plus an optional photo and documents), and a password (stored only in encrypted/hashed form).
- Content you submit: doubts, assignment answers, quiz and test answers, chat messages, notes, and any files or photos you choose to upload.
Information collected automatically
- Learning activity: lessons and videos watched, progress, quiz/test attempts and scores, streaks, certificates and enrollment history.
- Technical data: IP address, browser or app version, device type and server logs, used for security, troubleshooting and preventing misuse.
- Login session data stored on your device (browser local storage / cookies) so that you stay signed in.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, call logs or SMS.
Android app permissions
- Internet and network state — to load the Service and show an offline message when there is no connection.
- Camera (optional) — used only when you choose to take a photo or video to upload (for example, an assignment). Nothing is captured in the background.
- Files / storage (optional, older Android versions only) — used only to pick a file you choose to upload.
You can deny or withdraw these permissions at any time in your phone settings; the rest of the app keeps working.
How we use your information
- To create, secure and manage your account (login authentication).
- To show lessons, courses and tests for your selected class.
- To track your learning progress, results and certificates.
- To answer doubts and support requests and to send important account or service notifications.
- To keep the Service safe, fix problems and improve it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising.
Children's privacy
The Service is built for school students, and many of our users are under 18. A parent or guardian should create the account for a child, or help the child create it, and supervise its use. We collect only the information needed to provide the learning service, we do not show advertising, and we never sell children's data. A parent or guardian can ask us at any time to review, correct or delete their child's information by writing to support@eklavya.live.
How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- StudyPulse staff (content managers and administrators) can see student accounts and learning progress to manage content, answer doubts and support students.
- Hosting provider — our servers and database are hosted by a cloud/server provider that stores data on our behalf.
- YouTube — many video lessons are YouTube videos embedded in the Service. When you play them, YouTube (Google) may collect data as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
- Legal reasons — when required by law, court order or to protect the safety of users.
Data security
All data is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are stored encrypted (never in plain text), login sessions use secure tokens, and access to student data is restricted to authorised staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, it is deactivated immediately and can no longer be used to sign in. Your personal profile information is then permanently deleted within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, which are kept only for the period the law requires.
Your choices and rights
- You can view and update your profile and change your password at any time from your account settings.
- You can delete your account yourself: sign in, open Settings and choose Delete my account. Full steps are on our Delete Account page.
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to support@eklavya.live.
We will respond to requests in line with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version; important changes will be announced in the Service.
